Studio Policies

Be on time and ready to work.  Double check that you have everything you need before you leave the house; instrument, music, shoulder rest, 3 ring binder or notebook, pencils, etc.

I have all the patience in the world for teaching.  I have never dismissed a student because they had difficulty learning a technique or had off weeks, etc.  If I percieve that a student has a desire to learn to play and improve, I will do everything I can to make it happen.

That being said, the two in-lesson behaviors that will lead to dismissal from my studio are apathy and disrespectful behavior.  Those of you with kids in the 'limit testing/pushing' stages, which I believe go from 0 to 18+ years of age, must make it clear to your kids that that sort of behavior won't fly in lessons.  I expect students to arrive ready to learn, I expect them to be respectful towards their parents, myself, and of both their and my instruments and equipment.

Lesson Cancellation Policy

At least 24 hours notice prior to lesson will be given by student/parent should a cancellation be necessary.  A make-up lesson may be scheduled at my discretion.

At least 24 hours notice will be given should I need to cancel a lesson.  I will make every effort to schedule a make-up lesson.

Exceptions to the 24 hour notice policy may be made on a case by case basis.  Family emergencies, car accidents, weather, sudden illness, and loss of limb are reasonable exceptions.

Excessive cancellations and/or lack of sufficient notice will be grounds for beginning a prepayment plan.
