Expectations for Behavior

Be on time and ready to work. Double check that you have everything you need before you leave the house; instrument, music, shoulder rest, 3 ring binder or notebook, pencils, etc.

I have all the patience in the world for teaching. I have never dismissed a student because they had difficulty learning a technique or had off weeks, etc. If I perceive that a student has a desire to learn to play and improve, I will do everything I can to make it happen.

That being said, the two in-lesson behaviors that will lead to dismissal from my studio are apathy and disrespectful behavior. Those of you with kids in the 'limit testing/pushing' stages, which I believe go from 0 to 18+ years of age, must make it clear to your kids that that sort of behavior won't fly in lessons. I expect students to arrive ready to learn, I expect them to be respectful towards their parents, myself, and of both their and my instruments and equipment.
